House Spirit Day

House Spirit Day at Clevedon School

Which house are you in?
How did you feel supporting your house in the House Chant competition?

Here are a some photos from the day, can you see yourself?
Applying hairspray for the boys...

...and ribbons for the girls.

Kiwi House getting dressed up, ready for the parade.

Looking good! Do your best in the House Chant competition.

What a beautiful Kaka bird.

Anticipation building before the parade through the village.

Scary looking zombies!

Each house had chance to showcase their chant on stage.

Tui House won the cup this year!

Congratulations to everyone for joining in the fun on the day. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to school to show your support.

MOTAT Trip

On Tuesday 1 April we are going to MOTAT to find out about simple machines. The big idea for our next unit of inquiry is:

We use simple machines in our everyday lives to make life easier.

We will be finding out how simple mechanisms work and how they can help us.

Our key questions are:

  • How do simple machines work?
  • How do people use simple machines?
  • How has the development of simple machines changes society?

Virtues in Action

Each week we will have a 'virtue of the week'.
Last week, 3 - 7 March,  our virtue was self-discipline

"Self-discipline means your body in charge of yourself"  Millie

"Self-discipline, if you see someone doing the wrong thing, don't copy them." Rosie

"Self-discipline, when you are learning something new, and it's hard, don't give up. Keep going and do your best." Samuel

Well done Lennox for receiving the PRIDE award for 'self-discipline' this week.
