Athletics
We had a great day last Friday at the Massey Park athletics track.
We all did our best and had heaps of fun cheering each other on.
Today, Wednesday, we have the finals for the 60 metre and 100 metre races.
These are the Room 5 students in the finals.

Making a Sundial
Lennox and Caelan worked with Mr Din to design and make a sundial.
"First of all we had to start off with paper and draw how we wanted to make it," said Lennox.
"Next we had to get some wood, a little block of wood. Then we got sand paper and sanded it to make it smooth. We had to sand all the pieces of wood," said Caelan.
Do you know how sundials work?

Courage
We chose courage as our virtue for last week. We felt many of us needed to find some courage to take part in the swimming races at our Swimming Sports day.
"I watched other people swimming and I felt nervous. Then I felt proud of myself for finding the courage to swim in two races. Last year my mum came to watch me and I didn't even swim! This year I DID IT!"
Lily
Lily was nervous but she found the courage to swim in the competition |
Each week we will have a 'virtue of the week'.
Last week, 3 - 7 March, our virtue was self-discipline.
"Self-discipline means your body in charge of yourself" Millie
"Self-discipline, if you see someone doing the wrong thing, don't copy them." Rosie
"Self-discipline, when you are learning something new, and it's hard, don't give up. Keep going and do your best." Samuel
Well done Lennox for receiving the PRIDE award for 'self-discipline' this week.
